Job description
The Employer is: WINDSOR WOMENS CENTRE. Children’s Play Worker: The successful candidate will assist Windsor Women’s Centre in achieving the aims of the Centre Programme. The Children’s Play Worker will be responsible for aiding and implementing a stimulating and varied programme of activities for children, within a group setting and on an individual level and will carry out any other reasonable duties, which will enhance the quality of life of children within a specific area of South Belfast. Responsibilities
- Assist in organising and implementing a stimulating and varied programme of activities for children, within a group setting and on an individual level.
- To assist with the preparation and maintenance of all facilities required, such as rooms, materials and equipment and ensure all facilities and resources are left clean and tidy after sessions.
- To work as part of the team to promote the social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual development of children and to work in the interest of children at all times and to seek professional advice about any changes in a childs wellbeing.
- To undertake any instruction/training to underpin or acquire knowledge of programmes and activities to support your role in supporting children, specific to their needs including additional needs, on a group and individual level.
- To contribute to the maintenance and improvement of a welcoming child-centred environment while ensuring a good standard of hygiene and safety, observing all relevant health and safety rules and guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of working in a Childcare.
- A genuine interest, motivation and enjoyment around working with children.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or working towards.
Desirable Skills
- First Aid certificate.
- Child Protection Training.
- An understanding of childrens development and their physical, social, educational and emotional needs.
- A good level of understanding of the rights of children.
- An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- An ability to communicate effectively with young children.
- An ability to liaise with parents and to understand the importance of parental involvement.
- Willingness to undertake flexible working patterns/rotas and to work unsocial hours when required.
- A commitment to the ethos and values of Windsor Womens Centre
Further Information
The Employer is: WINDSOR WOMENS CENTRE. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: 16/17 £5.28, 18/20yrs £7.49, 21/22yrs £10.18, 23/24yrs £10.42 per hour
