Learning Support Coordinator


Job description

The postholder will manage the provision of an effective and efficient learning support service to all College students and to provide appropriate specialist staff development..

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the operational management of the college Learning Support Services
  • Lead on JCQ requirements for students to receive Access Arrangements
  • Help develop and implement the Colleges Learning Support strategy
  • Manage relevant issues of budgeting and requisitions
  • Deliver staff development on the role of the Learning Link and SENDO Legislation

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have at least a Level 7 qualification in the area of Individual Specialist Assessment, e.g. Post Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia and Literacy
  • Have a current driving licence and access to a car (Applicants with a disability who have been prevented from obtaining a driving licence due to their disability (as defined by the DDA 1995) are eligible to apply)

Desirable Skills

  • Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least three years post qualification experience assessing the needs of students who have additional needs in a post-16 educational environment
