Job description
The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority is the independent regulator of health and social care in Northern Ireland. Our corporate strategy sets out our ambitions and priorities. As a member of our team you will help us achieve our goal through effective regulation and inspection. RQIA is responsible for carrying out a range of inspection programmes to regulated services, (care homes, domiciliary care agencies, supported living services, nursing agencies, adult placement and day care), acute and non-acute HSC hospital settings and independent hospitals. Additionally we carry out a programme of inspections of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, prisons and custody suites, and also support other RQIA teams in carrying out joint inspections of a wide range of regulated and non-regulated care services..
Responsibilities
- Register, inspect and regulate services to make sure they are safe, effective, compassionate and well lead.
- Manage caseloads and ensure issues and risks are escalated to the senior manager as appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Hold a Pharmacy Degree.
- Current live registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
Desirable Skills
- A track record of working effectively with senior teams in larger organisations.
- Awareness of Legislation and Standards relating to the review, investigation and inspection of statutory and independent health and social care services.
