Job description

To provide technical support and assistance to teaching staff in the implementation of the school’s/department’s education programme. For the full job description please see the application pack..

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organise and basic construction of resources for teacher demonstrations and practical examinations. Classroom assistance may be required.
• Set out equipment and materials for class use and remove same when class is complete.
• Prepare standard solutions necessary for practical work.
• Maintenance of Bunsen burners.
• Ensure that mandatory and/or statutory checks of materials and equipment are carried out by qualified personnel.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE passes (grades A - C) including English, Mathematics & Chemistry or Double Award Science (or relevant equivalent or higher examination qualifications). For all essential criteria please see the application pack.

Desirable Skills

• Hold a qualification in A Level Chemistry, or related scientific subject. For all of the desirable criteria please see the application pack.
