Administrator - Learning and Skills


Job description

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery efficient and effective administrative service on the NIPS contract to include administrative support to the Head of Learning and Skills and the tracking of the learner journey from recruitment to completion of their programme. The post holder will contribute to invigilation of examinations..

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in the operation of the duties of the post
  • Act in adherence with operational procedures in relation to the delivery of a quality administrative support service within the NIPS contract and to ensure targets are met
  • Participate in the use of the College Management Information Systems (MIS) and undertake training as appropriate
  • Make effective use of MIS to monitor statistical targets and provide accurate information as required for MIS returns and financial reports
  • Support the work of the Head of Learning and Skills by assisting in the achievement of set targets and monitoring of associated deadlines in line with the College Development Plan and the Departmental Development Plan

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Have a Level 3 qualification in any discipline
  • Have GCSE English (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
  • Have GCSE Maths (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
  • Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least two years relevant employment experience providing administrative support in an administrative role including experience engaging with stakeholders
  • Be able to demonstrate on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, experience in the use of computer packages such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable Skills

  • Have a Level 4 qualification in any discipline
