SPPG_Commissioning Lead - Regional Services and Strategic Planning, Band 8B
Job description
The post holder will function within the Specialist Acute planning and commissioning process and will be responsible to the Assistant Director (Specialist Services). The commissioning, provision and delivery of safe, sustainable specialist care to a population of 1.9m in Northern Ireland is challenging. The post holder will have responsibilities for ensuring that services within their remit are able to be secured and provided consistent with demand and in keeping with wider extant clinical quality standards..
Responsibilities
- Secure and manage patient, client, carer and public involvement in the development of commissioning plans and objectives and the design of service patterns and pathways which improve quality and patient experience
- Manage major, controversial service change programmes which improve health and well-being outcomes and reduce inequalities and reduce overall cost
- Use proven techniques for the management of change and performance improvement, user and community engagement and economic appraisal
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A university degree or relevant professional qualification at NVQ Level 6 and A minimum of 3 years experience in a managerial role Or 5 years experience in a managerial role at a senior level in HSC or similar organisation
- And At least 2 years experience in a leadership role, including development of plans with contributions from a wide range of stakeholders At least 2 years experience in managing programme budgets
Desirable Skills
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport See JD
