Senior Subject Access Request Co-Ordinator / Team, Band 4


Job description

The post holder will assist the Health Records Manager in the handling of Access to Records requests under the legislative requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, General Data Protection Regulation (2018) Access to Health Records (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 and other relevant legislation..

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the overseeing and controlling of all issues relating to Health Records Subject Access correspondence and Victim Payments requests.
  • Day to day supervision and training of clerical staff, including allocation of daily work, monitoring and recording of sickness levels including completion of return to work interviews and, allocation and recording of annual leave and/or other leave
  • Effectively communicate with medical, nursing and senior managers where required on a regular basis to ensure a high quality service is maintained.
  • Liaising with Health Records teams / departments / secretaries regarding the location of notes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • HNC / HND or equivalent / higher qualification in an administrative related field AND 1 years experience in a clerical / administrative role at Band 3 or equivalent/above
  • OR 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and Maths or equivalent / higher qualification AND 2 years experience in a clerical / administrative role (with at least 1 year of this to be at Band 3 or equivalent/above)
  • 3 years experience in a clerical / administrative role (with at least 1 year of this to be at Band 3 or equivalent/above)
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of PAS or equivalent system
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport SEE JD

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a Health Records Department
