Job description

The post holder will be an integral member of the Musculo-Skeletal team offering physiotherapy treatment at our Physiotherapy Departments. The post holder will provide highly skilled specialised assessment and treatment of patients who present with diverse or complex multi-pathologies. The post holder will be required to work independently and to liaise closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team with participation in the on-call rota and out-of-hours service. Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service. The post holder will have management responsibility for more junior and support staff in their service area. The Physiotherapy Service in the Northern Trust is committed to ongoing review and modernisation of services to enable us to provide high quality care for patients / service users. As part of this it may be required that posts become rotational within appropriately linked specialities and / or localities as the need arises. .

Responsibilities

  • To hold responsibility for own caseload ensuring delivery of an efficient, effective service to referred clients in line with available evidence, national guidelines and professional standards.
  • To undertake the appropriate advanced assessment of patients to formulate individualised management and treatment plans in agreement with patients/carers.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with Health Professions Council
  • Evidence of relevant post qualification CPD training
  • 2 years post registration experience, to include 6 months physiotherapy experience in Musculoskeletal Outpatients
