Job description

To take a lead role in the clinical management of people with complex conditions in the area of Acquired Brain Injury within the North Down and Ards locality To work as an advanced practitioner within the community brain injury team, to participate in all multi-disciplinary meetings, share decision making, advise on specific physiotherapy requirements and complete shared files for all patients and carers in a person centred manner To provide clinical leadership to develop and deliver highly specialised physiotherapy interventions meeting the needs of patients with acquired brain injury in the community setting. To hold an active caseload, offering a wide range of appropriate interventions to patients within the clinical area determine independent clinical diagnosis and the physiotherapy treatment indicated; maintaining clinical records in accordance with professional standards To act as a source of expertise and provide an advisory, education and consultative service to members of the team, wider staff within physiotherapy services and to other professions. Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Brain Injury and Physiotherapy Services Assist in the development of interagency and partnership working with community and voluntary sectors to ensure the development of a collaborative approach to the client care service in accordance with organisational requirements, strategic objectives professional, national and Trust standards To use excellent communication skills to develop and maintain communication systems with a wide range of service users, staff and providers..

  • Work autonomously to undertake the specialist comprehensive assessments and treatment of clients with a range of complex needs and multi-pathologies. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 5 years post graduate experience to include 2 years senior experience (Band 6 or equivalent). A minimum of 3 years experience working with patients with a neurological presentation.

Further Information

Wage: £41,659 - £47,672 per annum pro rata. Closing: Tue, 14 May 2024 5:30pm.
