Emotional Health & Wellbeing Practitioner CAMHS


Job description

The post holder is a member of CAMHS and will be a Primary Mental Health practitioner across the service responding to identified service needs. They will have responsibility for clinical work of their own caseload of children and young people with emotional and mental health difficulties. The post holder will have a level of skills, knowledge and competencies to provide assessments, planning, and interventions to children and young people within best practice guidelines and a supervision and line management structure to support the post holder. The post holder will work in linking, supporting and integrating across CAMHS in meeting the needs of children and young people. .

Responsibilities

  • Be skilled, competent and knowledgeable in sensitively engaging in therapeutic work with vulnerable children/adolescents and families
  • Prioritise and manage a caseload appropriately under the direction and supervision of the Band 6 and or Team Lead

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate assertively, effectively and sensitively with children and young people, parents and carers across a range of workplace situations that will include education and child health services.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to take responsibility for their own personal and continuous development and plan this with professional supervisor in line with Personal development Policy and in line with KSF for band 5 post.
