Trainee Sewing Machinist based in Newry.

Responsibilities

• Stitching all types of fabrics together for the upholstery Industry for a variety of products ranging from sofas, cushions & curtains.
• Choosing the right sewing machine settings & Needles for each job.
• Working with a variety of fabrics such as cotton, wool, leather and outdoor fabrics.
• Feeding fabric sections through the machine.
• Checking that finalised work matches pattern instructions.
• Clean, oil & look after machines.

• All training given on the job.
• Good time keeping essential.

• Attention to detail, good communication skills and an ability to work in a fast paced environment.
