Emergency Medicine Patient Tracker, Band 4
Job description
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Emergency Department’s Multidisciplinary Team to ensure all patients are seen & treated within the Priorities for Action (PFA) targets. The post holder will be required to provide timely information on all aspects of patients care within their journey in the ED. Responsibilities
- To take an active role in supporting the Emergency Department team in the delivery of high quality, timely, safe and effective care
- The patient tracker will take the lead in ensuring that the patients attendance timings meet the PFA target, by mapping the patients journey from point of arrival to diagnosis, treatment and outcome, as well as assessing for potential delays
- As lead person in patient tracking the tracker must ensure clear communication with the sister/shift lead and Consultant in Charge and escalate any issues which are delaying the patient journey
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- HNC/HND or equivalent/higher qualification in an administrative related field within a health care setting with direct patient contact Or 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C including English language and Maths or equivalent/higher qualification
- And 2 years experience in a clerical/administrative role within a health care setting with direct patient contact
