Pharmacy Technician Aseptic Services
Job description
In order to meet the overall mission of the Trust the post holder will: Be involved in the work of the Aseptic Service and Cancer unit sections providing the pharmaceutical service under the direction, control and supervision of pharmacists and senior technicians. Participate in the work of the other sections of the department under the direction, control and supervision of the appropriate pharmacist. .
Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of the aseptic services section including TPN and chemotherapy, and to maintain competence in this area
- To become a designated staff member on the register of staff authorised to be involved in the preparation of Intrathecal Chemotherapy and to maintain competence in this area as per Trust policy.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- BTEC and NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services / BTEC L3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent (see below) in pharmacy plus 18 months experience working as a student pharmacy technician for a minimum of 14 hpw
- BTEC level 3 Nat Cert in Pharmacy Services or equivalent (see below) plus a minimum of 18 months experience working as a student pharmacy technician for a minimum of 14 hours per week
