Job description
The deputy leader should support the leader in providing a stimulating and varied programme of play and ensuring safety and well-being of the children. In order to achieve this the deputy leader will: Adhere to all policies & procedures. Adhere to minimum standards. Help prepare and set out accessible activities for children. Help collect children from different schools, welcome children & actively communicate with the parents. Facilitate activities, whilst also encouraging child-led play. Take part in events & outings. Ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the children. Advise the leader of any matter requiring attention such as concerns about a child. Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learnt as part of the job. Assume responsibility of the after school in the absence of the leader..

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Currently holds or capacity to demonstrate working towards obtaining QCF Level 5 in Early Years or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a childcare setting.
Desirable Skills
- Child Protection Training.
- First Aid Training.
Further Information
Although job is advertised as part-time, there is extra hours during school closures & summer holidays.
