Job description

The post holder will provide high quality leadership and be accountable for the strategic and operational management of the Directorate. The Directorate services that fall under the responsibility of the post holder are: Obstetrics Gynaecology Midwifery acute and community The post holder will work in partnership with the Clinical Director Associate Clinical Directors and take lead responsibility for strategic planning and service development, ensuring that all key targets are met within the resources allocated on an annual basis. He or she will be responsible for providing safe, efficient and effective services, implementing and embedding HSC values and collective leadership behaviours. The Assistant Director Head of Midwifery will provide professional leadership all midwives across the Trust. He or she will be a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Professional Leadership Team within the Trust, reporting to the Executive Director of Nursing on all professional midwifery issues. The post holder will ensure that appropriate governance arrangements are established and maintained across the Directorate and will lead the promotion of excellence and the maintenance of standards. He or she will be accountable for ensuring effective financial management is embedded within the Directorate. The post holder will also share in the corporate responsibility for policy making, decision making and developing the Trusts alms and objectives, as outlined in the Trust Corporate Plan. .

Responsibilities
