Job description

At the heart of HMRCs digital first strategy, the Director of Digital Transformational Programmes will spearhead the shift towards digital, self serve channels. They will direct end to end digital transformation of services, provide excellent customer services and high levels of compliance whilst also driving productivity and efficiency to reduce operating costs. Responsibilities

  • Working in close collaboration with business stakeholders to land changes into the operations and compliance teams and ensure that the benefits are delivered
  • Lead the multi-functional team to ensure outcomes meet business and customer needs
  • Continue to develop the iterative delivery model using proven Agile techniques, supporting wider HMRC colleagues to adapt processes and ways of working to become more agile in their approach
  • Ensure that digital programmes deliver against their policy objectives, meet Ministerial aims, minimise error and fraud and are easy and low cost to operate for both HMRC and customers
  • Providing a single point of contact with senior colleagues across HMRC and wider government on the direction and performance of the programmes

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Relevant Qualification in Project Delivery e.g. Association for Project Management (APM) qualifications or Major Projects Leadership Academy (MPLA)
  • In the event that the candidate is not already MPLA qualified they must be prepared to achieve this within 24 months
  • Experience in leading large-scale digital transformation/channel shift programmes on mobile app and online (mobile & desktop)
