Job description

The Employer is: PORTRUSH YACHT CLUB. Bar Staff. Responsible to: Bar Supervisor & General Manager Objective of position: To serve beverages and food to members and guests of the employer in a friendly and pleasant manner and to promote a welcoming recreational environment for them. Carry out general bar and waiting duties as directed by the Bar Manager and General Manager. Full training will be provided. Bar or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential. .

Responsibilities

  • Serve beverages & food to PYC Members and their guests.
  • Collect and clear all empty bottles, glasses and ashtrays etc. from public areas.
  • Ensure stock is rotated properly and that the store area is kept clean, tidy and unobstructed at all times.
  • Replenish bar stocks.
  • Observe licencing and customs and excise regulations.
  • Ensure the constant availability of clean glasses and service articles.
  • Maintain the security of the premises, cash, stock and equipment.
  • At all times maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in both the bar and public areas.
  • Observe all PYC Health and Safety policy and club procedures including signing in of non-members and undertake any relevant training as directed by the General Manager.
  • Assist with stocktaking.
  • The above should not be considered to be an exhaustive list but is an outline of the principle duties. You will be expected to carry out all reasonable duties as from time to time directed by the General Manager or Bar Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work in a team in a diverse sports club.
  • Good communication skills to maintain a friendly environment for Members and guests.
  • Able to adapt in a fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and to assist with the wider club.
  • Cash handling.

Desirable Skills

  • Full training will be provided. Bar or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential.

Further Information

The Employer is: PORTRUSH YACHT CLUB. Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
