Experienced Flexographic Printer


Job description

We require an experienced printer to operate Mark Andy and/or Nilpeter presses, running up to 8 colours and delivering the highest quality products for customers..

Responsibilities

  • To operate presses efficiently to produce a wide range of labels and shrink sleeves
  • To carry out basic maintenance in accordance with standard procedures
  • To perform all required quality tests and complete all quality documentation correctly
  • To flag potential issues or defective materials
  • To meet productivity targets while adhering to all H&S and QMS rules
  • To provide assistance and support to other members of the team
  • To use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills
  • To keep work area, equipment and machinery clean and tidy
  • To work with and contribute to continuous improvements across the site
  • To undertake and/or provide training and upskilling as required
  • To assist in the preparation of goods for despatch as required
  • Other reasonable duties as directed

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Flexographic printing
  • Good mathematical skills to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Good English to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Ability to differentiate colours, to read and check small copy
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Computer literate
  • Attention to detail, a methodical approach
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team

Desirable Skills

  • Adaptable, receptive to new ideas and changing demands and circumstances
  • Experience in other related areas such as Pre-press, finishing will be an advantage
  • Experience of working within the food or drink industry would be an advantage
  • Desire to learn and progress

Further Information

Location: Springtown Industrial Estate. Work time: Initial Day shift Mon to Wed 8am-5pm Thur 8am-4pm Fri 8am-12.30pm. Wage Start £24,400 per annum Shift premium 20 per cent. Wages negotiable based on experience. Annual bonus based on performance and service. Attractive benefits package. 34 days holiday. Initially you will work day shift with an option to move to Double Day shift once ability confirmed. Double day shift attracts 20 per cent premium. Week 1 Early shift 6.00am to 3.00pm. Week 2 Late shift 2.30pm to 11.30pm with Friday off.
