Job description

We require a Digital printer to join our HP Indigo Digital Department. This position will suit anyone with experience in print either pre-press, finishing or operating any kind of digital printing device as training is available..

Responsibilities

  • To operate the digital press efficiently to produce a wide range of labels and shrink sleeves.
  • To carry out basic maintenance in accordance with standard procedures.
  • To perform all required quality tests and complete all quality documentation correctly.
  • To flag potential issues or defective materials.
  • To meet productivity targets while adhering to all H&S and QMS rules.
  • To provide assistance and support to other members of the team.
  • To use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • To keep work area, equipment and machinery clean and tidy.
  • To work with and contribute to continuous improvements across the site.
  • To undertake and/or provide training and upskilling as required.
  • To assist in the preparation of goods for despatch as required.
  • Other reasonable duties as directed.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Good mathematical skills to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Good English to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Ability to differentiate colours, to read and check small copy.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Computer literate.
  • Attention to detail, a methodical approach.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a print environment.
  • Adaptable, receptive to new ideas and changing demands and circumstances.
  • Experience of working within the food or drink industry would be an advantage.
  • Desire to learn and progress.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload and to work to deadlines.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime to meet customer requirements when required.

Wages negotiable based on experience. Annual bonus based on performance and service. Attractive benefits package. Overtime premium. 34 days holiday Initially you will work day shift with the possibility of moving to Double Day shift when required. Double day shift attracts 20 per cent premium - 75 hours over 2 weeks
