SHSCT_Information Governance Officer, Band 4


Job description

The post holder will ensure the provision, retention and disposal of records in accordance with DHSSPS Guidelines, the General Data Protection Regulation (2018), the Data Protection Act (2018), the Freedom of Information Act (2000), Environmental Information Regulations (2005), Re Use of Public Sector Information Regulations (2005), Human Rights Act (2000), and Controls Assurance Standards.

Responsibilities

  • To record and monitor requests for information centrally (including Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests), providing details of source and summary of requests on a daily basis for line management to action.
  • To liaise with Information Owners in ensuring that requests for information are processed within the required timeframe.
  • To liaise with colleagues internally and / or regionally to ensure consistent responses to requests when appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • HNC / HND or equivalent / higher qualification in an administrative related field and 1 years experience of working in a records/information management environment or
  • 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and or equivalent / higher qualification and 2 years experience of working in a records/information management environment or 3 years experience of working in a records/information management
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport
  • Knowledge of HSC Trust reporting structure
