Job description

The Deputy Leader should support the leader in providing a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families. The Deputy Leader should implement the HighScope approach to early learning.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and fully set out the playroom appropriately before the sessions commences and is tidied up after the session ends.
• Take part in all the group’s activities.
• Carry out observations and assessments.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience working with young children.
• QCF Level V Diploma in Childcare, Learning and Development or equivalent (or working towards). (The suitable candidate may be achieving level III at present and begin level V in September 2025.)
• Must be able to work on own initiative and in a team.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of the HighScope Approach to early learning.
• IT skills.
