Cook Hours are negotiable between 16 and 30 hours per week Salary is Dependent on experience Gaelphoist's Client is seeking a Cook to join their team in a vibrant daycare setting. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and health of children by preparing nutritious meals in a supportive environment. This role is based in an independent kitchen and requires a high level of self-direction. Cleaning duties will also form part of the role e.g., washing dishes, cleaning appliances and surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals for children.
• Maintain the highest standards of nutrition and food safety.
• Safely cater for dietary needs and allergies.
• Manage kitchen supplies and stock, place orders as needed.
• Work within a budget and aim to minimise food waste.
• Communicate effectively with the daycare team.
• Perform daily cleaning and maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently and good communication skills.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).
• Ability to work independently and good communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Good working level of the irish language.
