Job description

At Habitat Restore, individuals will gain work experience within a retail environment. Opportunities to gain experience in following areas are available :- Customer Service Sorting donations Displaying donations Answering phone Till experience There may be other opportunities to pick up new skills if the applicant feels they would like more opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lifting items from and into customer cars / vans / trailers.
• Preparation for merchandising newly arrived stock.
• Keeping the store clean and tidy. Using the till to sell stock direct to customers.
• Helping with customer enquiries.
• Attending appropriate training and applying same.
• On occasions travelling in the van to collect donated items from customer houses.
• Supporting retail staff and volunteers on a day to day basis.
• Helping customers in the shop and on the phone.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Willingness to learn.
• Be able to work as part of team as well as independently.

Further Information

Employer - Habitat for Humanity This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 8 weeks and will require attendance of 25 - 30 hours per week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to £10 per day/max £50/week.
