Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead complex projects, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Consult with tenants, local authorities, contractors, and community representatives to align objectives and maintain excellent relationships.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to NIHE policies, regulations, and best practices. Maintain detailed records and oversee contractor approvals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track project costs, KPIs, and quality metrics. Provide regular reports to management and contribute to audits.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks effectively while addressing tenant and staff concerns.
  • Process Optimisation: Authorise work instructions, process invoices, and ensure accurate data entry for monitoring systems.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree (Level 6) in a Building/Construction-related discipline with 1 year’s relevant post qualification experience OR
  • BTEC Higher (Level 5) with 2 years’ relevant post qualification experience OR
  • Equivalent professional development with 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience.
  • Experience in at least 3 of the following areas:
  • Managing project budgets for NEC maintenance contracts (or similar construction contract such as JCT, FIDIC, etc)
  • Delivering projects in line with targets, standards, and stakeholder expectations, including engaging stakeholders to include contractors and subcontractors.
  • Achieving KPIs and preparing performance reports.
  • Collecting, analysing and reporting performance data and quality and cost data for construction or maintenance contracts.
  • Providing technical advice on maintenance-related matters and dealing with on-site construction issues.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NEC 3 / 4 Suite of Contract and their application in project management.
  • Demonstrate and understanding of good governance with respect to project management.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office / IT packages
  • A full current driving licence and access to a form of transport.

Further Information

About the role: £18.72 per hour. 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Holidays: 35 days annual leave, pro rata. Duration: Temporary, ongoing. Public Sector.
