Job description

An opportunity for a skilled Lab Technician to join a well-established production facility in Bushmills. This role involves a mix of laboratory and environmental analysis, supporting quality assurance and process performance across the site. Responsibilities

• Documentation and analysis of distillery raw materials/ingredients/Process and environmental samples, routine in process and finished product sensory profiling and compilation of data for corporate reports.
• Ensuring that equipment is well calibrated and reference standards used at defined frequencies to ensure accuracy of measurements.
• Participation in process improvements and proactive in identifying any potential problems and non-conformances with site standards (internal audits, effective PDCA cycles and CAPA).
• Carrying out and recording of quality assurance checks within packaging, or other areas as required, monitoring process performance, critical control points, and maintain accurate data across all processes.
• Complying with all safety, health, environmental, quality and housekeeping policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a food science based subject.
• Must have a minimum of 12 months recent experience working in a laboratory within an FMCG company.
• Working Knowledge in Quality Management Systems, Analytical Chemistry and Packaging process.
• Must be computer literate, with experience of using Microsoft Windows.
• A team player who can build strong working relationships to achieve team goals, with an ability to lead, inspire and positively influence others.
• An inquisitive nature and ability to generate ideas in order to help improve overall performance with a positive attitude to work, flexible.

Further Information

Temporary, 6 month cover with possibility of extension. Ideal for candidates with a background in food science or analytical chemistry looking to contribute to high-quality manufacturing standards.
