Job description

The right person for the role will be responsible for conducting routine inspections and testing of electrical appliances to ensure they are safe to use. This role involves traveling to various client sites, performing tests, and maintaining accurate records of all inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and testing of portable electrical appliances in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Identify and report any faults or hazards found during testing.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests conducted, including test results and any actions taken using company templates.
• Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working order.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to PAT testing.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Relevant certification in Portable Appliance Testing (City & Guilds 2377) or willingness to train and pass within first 3 months of employment.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Full valid UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to lift and carry testing equipment and appliances.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including offices and industrial sites.
• Willing to travel and avail of company-supplied accommodation to facilitate delivery of works across ROI and beyond when required.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in PAT testing or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various client sites.
