Passionate Chef wanted to join our kitchen team in Ballycarry. Looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Chef to join our friendly team at Millar’s Bar. Now under new management, Millars is fast becoming a ‘pub with great food’ destination which has resulted in a rapid increase in food sales. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us, contribute to our menu, ensure the highest quality of food production and join the most lively and welcoming team of staff you will meet.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small kitchen team
- Develop and plan menus, including weekly specials, themed nights, functions and events
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Assist with developing new recipes, including food costing
- Manage food orders and inventory
- Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth operations
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in a similar chef role
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge Excellent teamwork and ability to lead the kitchen when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment Passion for food and able to assist in developing new recipes and creating delicious meals
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene and a strong knowledge of allergens Ability to work Wednesday to Sunday, including weekends. Our wage structure is based on hours worked and paid on a weekly basis
