Resonate Testing is an ambitious, cutting-edge mechanical and environmental test facilitator. Our services support a wide range of industries including mission-critical components and systems, in high-performance testing for high-growth markets such as the Space, Battery, and Aerospace sectors - ensuring they meet the most rigorous standards for durability, safety, and performance. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and practical Mechanical and Electrical Technician to support the operation of our advanced test laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Test Rig Operation: Assemble, wire, and operate complex mechanical and electrical test rigs for thermal, vibration, and shock testing.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on specialist test equipment, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Data Acquisition Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation and sensors to gather accurate test data.
• Documentation: Accurately document test setups, procedures, and outcomes in line with quality standards.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe and controlled working environment through adherence to all safety procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver successful test campaigns.
• Process Improvement: Contribute ideas and feedback to support continuous improvement of laboratory operations.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a test laboratory, R&D, or industrial engineering environment, preferable.
• Strong mechanical assembly and/or electrical wiring skills.
• Familiarity with environmental testing methods (vibration, thermal, shock), preferable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics, preferable.

Desirable Skills

• Forklift licence, full UK driving licence and PLC knowledge.
