Dog Warden Derry City & Strabane District Council. You will join the Dog Warden team within the Council. Enforce legislation, Orders and Byelaws relevant to dog control, including all matters relating to dog attacks on persons, livestock and other animals, dog licencing. Responsibilities

• Enforce legislation, Orders and Byelaws relevant to dog control, including all matters relating to dog attacks on persons, livestock and other animals, dog licencing
• Collection and impounding of stray dogs, and the identification and seizure of banned breeds
• Plan, organise and prioritise the day to day management of personal work allocations to achieve the objective and targets detailed in the Dog Control and Animal Welfare Service Delivery Plan

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 5 GCSEs at Grace C or above or equivalent level of qualification
• Drivers licence and access to transport
• 2 years' relevant experience working with dogs in a controlled environment
• Control and handling of various breeds of dogs
• Dealing with members of the public including complaints
• Cash handling
• Maintaining records and drafting reports
