Job description

The post holder will work as a member of the physiotherapy teams in Royal Victoria Hospital assisting in delivering patient centred care to patients of all ages across a variety of clinical specialities in aquatic therapy. Fulfil a range of clinical, administrative, IT and service support duties at a level commensurate with skill and expertise. Be able to work unsupervised and assist senior staff in the supervision and management of Physiotherapy Assistants as required across the physiotherapy service.

Responsibilities

• Work with the designated lead physiotherapist responsible for the aquatic therapy pool. Oversee routine chemical, environmental and microbiology testing of the pool water and pool area.
• In response to continued service development, the post holder will be required to undertake flexible working including extended working, seven day working as determined by operational requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in a health related topic and 2 years’ relevant experience OR HNC/D or equivalent in health and social care and 1 year’s relevant experience OR 4 years’ relevant experience at Band 3 level or equivalent OR REPS Level 3 (SEE JD)

Desirable Skills

• Swimming and Hydrotherapy Pool Operation and Management City and Guilds.
• Foundation Aquatic Therapy Course or its equivalent training or completion within one year.
• Previous experience working with children.
