We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering Northern Ireland’s first Passivhaus Capital project in Enniskillen. Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance, ensuring all works are delivered to Passivhaus standards and comply with design specifications, building regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Site Engineering: Oversee and manage site engineering activities, including setting out, surveying, and quality control.
  • Project Management: Assist in the planning and delivery of the construction programme, monitoring progress and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records in line with Passivhaus standards, ensuring all data is accurately documented and reported.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, providing efficient and effective solutions to ensure smooth progress.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives and delivery schedules.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure high standards of health & safety are upheld across all engineering activities on-site.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineer on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Passivhaus principles, sustainable construction methods, and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Proficiency in site engineering activities, including setting out and surveying.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health & safety regulations and construction compliance standards.
  • Highly proficient in relevant software such as AutoCAD, BIM tools, and other engineering applications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on public-sector projects.
  • Knowledge of Passivhaus certification processes.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications such as Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Membership in a professional body e.g., ICE or CIOB.
