Finance Assistant
Job description
You will work for a well-established wholesale company that has been in business for over 30 years. They have outlets throughout Northern Ireland and employ over 50 people. Due to continued expansion, they now require a Finance Assistant to join their dedicated finance team at their Derry/Londonderry office. Working within a dedicated team of accounting professionals and reporting to the Financial Controller, your main duties will mainly involve Accounts Payable tasks.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and verifying invoices for accuracy,ensuring they match purchase orders and receiving reports
- Entering invoice details into the accounting system maintaining accurate records
- Processing payments
- Dealing with suppliers to answer any queries reconciling accounts payable transactions
- Generating reports
- Assisting the team with accounts receivable duties
- Other finance administration duties as needed
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year's experience in a similar role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative
Desirable Skills
- Previous Accounts Payable experience
