Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor
Job description
The post holder, as a member of the Occupational Therapy Special School Team, will contribute to the provision of a high quality multidisciplinary service for Children and Young People within the Special School and the community. The post holder is required to work as a member of the Occupational Therapy Special School Service delivering high quality technical support both in the school and domiciliary settings. Responsibilities
- To be responsible for a delegated caseload, for organising own workload in line with the agreed service priorities, policies and procedures of the employing authority, under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist (First Line Manager).
- To review and monitor client progress regularly, taking account of their environment, any changes in their functional status and support network, taking responsibility for completing designated parts of the treatment plan with clients with a variety.
- Participate in treatment programmes/community clinics and to give advice/educate clients and carers on the management of their medical condition and functional difficulties in accordance with the Occupational Therapist’s treatment plan.
- To document all relevant information relating to clinical work in the client’s case record and record information relating to professional activity in accordance with service procedures and reporting back to the qualified therapists on progress.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years’ paid employment working in a formal health/social care related role providing direct patient care interventions.
- Or 3 years’ experience working as a Band 3 or above, as an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor.
- 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C, including Mathematics and English language or equivalent / higher qualification.
- Or Hold a Healthcare related level 3 Diploma NVQ / QCF / RQF qualification or equivalent or higher in a Health and Social Care related subject.
Further Information
Salary: £26,530 - £29,114 per annum, pro rata.
