Adult Mental Health Governance & Improvement Manager
Job description
The post holder will promote the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care, governance and quality improvement across the Adult Mental Health Acute and Community Services; in doing so identify and manage areas of risk relating to care / service delivery. The post holder will support and facilitate staff in achieving tangible improvements in the quality of care and health outcomes for service users. They will work closely with the relevant Assistant Directors, Operational Leads / Lead professionals, the wider multidisciplinary team and relevant others within the Adult Directorate. The role will also include working across the South Eastern Trust and, where appropriate, regionally across health and social care. The post holder will ensure implementation and application of professional, regional and local standards, policies and procedures, evidence-based practice and research. They will support Adult Mental Health Managers in ensuring robust governance structures are in place across Acute and Community Services. They will lead and coordinate audits across the Adult Mental Health Services, and other Directorate audits as appropriate and ensure outcomes of these are shared and actioned. The post holder will lead the development of adverse incident and risk management processes and will promote a culture of openness and learning across the Programme. They will ensure that effective governance systems and processes are in place at Programme level in line with the Trust’s Integrated Governance arrangements in order to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care. They will encourage reform by supporting SQE through improvement projects. The post holder will work closely with the Business & Performance Manager to develop and coordinate the management of all information sharing protocols.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of governance in line with strategies such as Quality 2020, the Safety Quality and Experience (SQE) agenda and all local, regional and national documents which apply to the safe delivery of patient care.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have a recognised Health and Social Care Professional Qualification or relevant university degree.
Desirable Skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of Adult Mental Health and Social Care strategic drivers.
- Experience of implementing quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience of strategic leadership in clinical and social care governance.
