School Collector (Term Time)
Job description
The School Collector role plays an important part of the successful daily running of the nursery. Your main role will be to drop off and collect children from nursery or school and ensure their safe return to Rascals at the end of their nursery/school day. This is a great opportunity to join the school collector team and ideal for those who want to benefit from term time working.
Responsibilities
- To drop off and collect children from nursery or school and transport them safely back to Rascals.
- To ensure each child is strapped in using seat belts and booster seats (age appropriate) at all times.
- To ensure all children are safely left into the appropriate room at Rascals and handed over to a member of staff in the room.
- To ensure that your school run list is collected before your first run and that you fully understand it.
- To ensure you are on time for each child.
- To be aware of special dietary requirements and allergies of children in your care.
- To ensure the vehicle is kept clean, has fuel and is running well.
- To report any faults relating to the running of the car to your manager.
- To comply with all nursery policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Valid driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Evidence of adequate insurance. The nursery provides vehicles for school collections however if you choose to use your own car, then class 2 business insurance is required.
- Experience driving for at least 3 years.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working with children.
- Knowledge of the schools and nurseries within the Rascals area.
- Previous experience driving in this capacity.
- Valid Paediatric First Aid.
