At Clanmil, our tenants are at the heart of what we do. The Caretaker will maintain the highest levels of cleanliness at our schemes will be responsible for the cleaning of all communal areas in the buildings and to act in a neighbourly and friendly fashion to tenants of the scheme and their visitors. You will have previous experience working within a similar role. This role will be based in Belfast schemes, where you may be asked to provide cover at neighbouring schemes.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility and pride in the cleaning of the scheme including dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings, cleaning of all communal areas of the scheme.
• Waste bins to be emptied regularly and all bins should be put out ready for collection on a weekly basis. These bins should also be brought back in after immediately after collection. Litter picking as and when required.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and in clean, working order and reporting any faults to the Housing Officer.
• Cover duties of other Caretakers / Domestic Assistants in the scheme in their absence or neighbouring schemes in the absence of Caretaker / Domestic Assistants based at that scheme
• Familiarise yourself with the company’s policies and procedures which you will be provided with at the start of your employment and during your induction period and induction training

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months previous experience working in a similar role as Caretaker/Domestic Assistant in a paid or voluntary working environment.
• Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of COSHH
