Information Governance Administrator
Job description
The post holder will assist the Information Governance Management Team to ensure that the Trust meets the legal responsibilities specified within the Data Protection Act 2018 and associated legislation and associated guidance. He/She will provide administrative support to the Information Governance Management Team and assist in the development and maintenance of administrative systems required to achieve this. The post holder will play a vital role in coordinating the administrative processes for all data protection activities within the Trust and have responsibility for the handling of Subject Access Requests for primarily community services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Information Governance Management Team in raising awareness of the legal responsibilities for the Trust under the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
- Maintain the Subject Access Request computer system (Information and encompass) and ensure requests are responded to within the defined legal limits.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include English Language and Maths or equivalent qualification and 2 year’s Administrative/Secretarial experience.
- NVQ Level II in Administration and 1 year’s Administrative/Secretarial experience.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car is also essential. Consideration will be given to alternative proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in Information Governance/Data Protection and the Subject Access Request process.
