Manager - Community and Outreach Education
Job description
Lead the development and delivery of a range of Community related provision. Lead and manage the performance of a team in a programme area to the quality standards required by the appropriate quality assurance authority/industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as curriculum leader
- Work with the Director of Curriculum and Academic Standards and Heads of Faculty to develop and enhance the curriculum provision for this area in line with DfE objectives with a focus on the North West region
- Work with a range of internal stakeholders to develop and deliver relevant community and outreach provision
- Assist in agreeing and achieving targets for working with all stakeholders involved in the delivery of community provision
- Work with the Head of Faculty - Creative, Performing Arts & Therapies to identify and deliver agreed targets for student recruitment, retention, satisfaction, achievement and success
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have a University Degree in the specialist area or equivalent qualification OR at least a Level 5 qualification in the specialist area with years relevant post qualifying industrial, professional or teaching experience
- Have GCSE English (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
- Have GCSE Maths (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
- Experience of working in community outreach
Desirable Skills
- Either hold or be in the process of completing or give a commitment to attain a PGCE recognised for teaching in NI FE Sector OR Be currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI)
