Job description

The fundraising manager will have the ability to bring people together, develop strong networks and identify and optimise funding opportunities. They will be a member of the senior leadership team overseeing the organisation’s work and strategic direction. This role will set a clear vision and deliver a long-term plan to achieve growth in income, and lead our organisation to deliver this ambition. This role will inspire creativity and innovation, monitor and review external trends to enhance income generation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organisations financial needs and goals. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships to promote a culture of giving.
  • Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, events, and individual giving. Create compelling fundraising campaigns and materials to engage potential donors and highlight Assisi’s achievements and impact.
  • Organise and manage fundraising events, leveraging the support of volunteers, staff and trustees. Collaborate with the senior management team to align fundraising efforts with strategic priorities and educational initiatives.
  • Implement effective stewardship practices to recognise and engage donors, ensuring a positive and long-term relationship. Monitor and report on fundraising progress, analysing data to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to engage corporate partners and champion Assisi Animal Sanctuary. Cultivating supporter led fundraising activities. Undertake such other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in fundraising in the voluntary sector or a commercially focused marketing role. Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences. Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to establish and nurture donor relationships.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Highly organised with strong project management and time management skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems. Able to be flexible with working hours to attend out of hours events when necessary.
