Job description

Clinical Coder required the successful Candidate will play a crucial role in accurately assigning medical codes to patients records.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical letters and assign appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures and treatments.
• Code clinical information on to the patient record.
• Deal with queries relating to coding.
• Work accurately when reviewing clinical documentation and follow clear protocols to ensure that clinical details are recorded correctly on patient records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in medical coding essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in assigning codes is crucial.
• 5 GCSE's at grade C or above including English & Maths.
• Strong organisational & time management skills.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
