Senior Procurement Manager


Job description

The BSO Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS) is the sole provider of professional supplies and services to Health and Social Care (HSC) Trusts, Board and Agencies in Northern Ireland (NI) covering contracting, logistics, warehousing, purchasing, capital equipping, ICT and E-commerce. It is an accredited Centre of Procurement Expertise (CoPE) established under the NI Public Procurement Policy (2002, as amended). Currently employing circa 400 staff on sites throughout NI, BSO PaLS has an operating budget of about £18m and influences approximately £1.3bn of goods and services expenditure (clinical and non-clinical) per annum on behalf of HSC with 2,900 contracts totalling in excess of £1.7bn.

Responsibilities

  • Candidates must be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
  • Involve patients, clients, carers and the wider community where relevant, in developing, planning, delivering and evaluating our services in a meaningful and effective way, as part of the HSC ongoing commitment to Personal Public Involvement (PPI).

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Candidates must be a full member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
  • Have at least three years experience at a senior management level within the procurement function in a large complex organisation.

Desirable Skills

  • Be able to demonstrate the use of information to make decisions and monitor their implementation.
