Telephonist
Job description
The Department provides a wide range of support services to a number of facilities and departments throughout the Western Health and Social Care Trust area. The services are centered around 5 PC consoles. Shift patterns operate 24 hours per day and cover a seven day week including holidays. The services include a multi-tone paging system, emergency calls (cardiac, fire) and direct dial lines.
Responsibilities
- To provide telephonist service for internal and external calls.
- To process calls and enquires efficiently and effectively within prescribed standards.
- Record and retain all logs for future audit purposes.
- To update and maintain records.
- To update and share information with work colleagues with particular relation to on call rotas.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 5 GCSE’S (GRADES A-C) including English Language or equivalent or higher educational standard Or 1 years experience in a telephony based role.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work with own initiative.

Desirable Skills
- Experience using PC based telephony systems to make and receive calls. Experience maintaining accurate information on a computerised system.
