Head of Information Governance and Data Protection
Job description
Establish and promote a supportive, fair and open culture that encourages and enables all parts of the team to have clearly aligned goals and objectives, to meet the required performance standards and to achieve continuous improvement in the services they deliver on.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the Health and Social Care records strategy and an information governance framework for the BSO.
- Manage and provide strategic leadership for the Information Governance and Records function within the BSO.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels internal and external to the BSIO to achieve organisational objectives.
- Manage the Information Governance Team/function and act as Freedom of Information Practitioner and Data Protection Officer for the BSO.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A university degree or relevant professional qualification and worked for at least 2 years in a senior role (a) in a major complex organisation (b) in a Information Governance, Information Management or Records Management role OR
- (Cont) Have at least 7 years’ experience working in a senior role (a) in a major complex organisation (b) with responsibility for interpreting and implementing relevant types of legislation.
- Demonstrable experience of strong leadership and management capabilities with at least 2 years’ experience in managing teams in the last 5 years.
