Responsibilities

  • The Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing the Early Years Salary Service, ensuring accurate and timely payment, and maintaining payroll records.
  • They will also support the Head of Finance Services with processing employee payroll.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments.
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse financial information effectively.
  • Comfortable managing payroll-related queries from clients and employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with external organisations.

Location: Early Years Headquarter, Belfast, BT12 6TA Hours: 22.5 to 37 hours per week available Tenure: Permanent Salary: NJC Scale 5, Points 12-17 (£27,711-£30,060) per annum pro rata
