Job description
We are recruiting for a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist (Cancer). Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist responsible for delivering a comprehensive psychological service to cancer patients in the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. The post holder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults affected by cancer and their families, across the cancer care pathway (diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, palliative and end of life care) in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. The role will involve close working with oncology multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to promote psychological wellbeing and support staff to deliver psychologically informed care. The role will require the systematic provision of a high-quality, highly specialist clinical service to clients referred and to the referring clinical teams, across all sectors of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and research placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
- Work collaboratively with MDTs to ensure psychological care is integrated into oncology/cancer treatment plans.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist at time of taking up appointment.
- Honours degree in Psychology (or equivalent) conferring Eligibility for Chartered Membership of BPS.
