Behaviour Specialist-Children's Learning Disability Therapeutic Service
Job description
To provide a systematic, high quality and specialist behavioural assessment and intervention service to children with a severe learning disability and challenging behaviour, and to assist the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the management of same. To direct, supervise and support the behavioural assessments and interventions provided by the service’s Behavioural Associates and Support Workers, working within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. To work in close liaison with carers and professional colleagues, providing in particular expert advice on behavioural assessments and interventions.
Responsibilities
- To deputise for the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, when required.
- To advise and participate in staff recruitment within the service.
- To advise and assist the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Team Leader in carrying out audit, policy and service development and research within the service and, where agreed, to implement policy changes and service improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Professional qualification in Learning Disability Nursing, Social Work, Clinical Psychology or an Allied Health Profession, recognised by the appropriate governing body.
