Clinical Computing Scientist
Job description
The postholder will be a highly skilled and motivated member of the Clinical Computing team providing clinical and scientific computing solutions within Regional Medical Physics; Departments and Divisions in within BHSCT and Trusts within the Northern Ireland Region. The post will mainly involve the design and development of database systems for the Northern Ireland Clinical Trials Unit as well as providing medical/clinical system support and application development to other areas. Assisting with and in collaboration with clinical, scientific and commercial partners, to assist in the design, development and implementation of, scientific computing projects. This will often involve bringing into clinical service a new or upgraded clinical computing system.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT departments within BHSCT and other HSC Trust IT departments.
- Plan and organise complex activities such as the introduction of software upgrades to clinical systems.
- Carry out medical device software development in accordance with local policy, national guidelines and in compliance with Medical Device Regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A 1st or 2nd class Honours degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or allied subject.
- 4 years’ relevant experience in a scientific and/or clinical computing environment.
