Good Relations Officer
Job description
Choice Housing Ireland Limited is seeking to recruit a Good Relations Officer to assist in delivering the Shared Housing Programme.
Responsibilities
- You will develop the necessary components to improve community cohesion within and between shared housing schemes and surrounding communities.
- You will engage, enable and empower local community groups to identify, liaise and coordinate the development and delivery of concerted Good Relations Plans.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline e.g. social science; community development; community relations OR 5 years community development /community relations experience;
- OR A BTEC Higher (or equivalent) AND OCN Level 2 accredited qualification in Community Relations / Community Development AND 3 years relevant experience as a practitioner in a Community Relations role.
- 2 years’ experience of building effective working relationships with community groups, public representatives and statutory agencies.
- Experience of managing monitoring & budgets in accordance with policies, procedures and external funding requirements.
Desirable Skills
- Demonstrate a track record in negotiating effectively with stakeholders, to ensure successful partnerships and positive outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of completing grant applications.
