Industrial 2 - Tradesperson (Walling - Mason/Bricklayer)
Job description
The Walling Mason/Bricklayer will be expected to contribute to HED’s maintenance, conservation, and preservation of our State Care sites.
Responsibilities
- To be capable of building masonry to a high standard and fulfil the full range of duties as expected for a time served walling mason/bricklayer tradesperson.
- Marking out and setting out basic dimensions etc as per instructions received.
- Working with and building stone walls, dry or with mortar by use of line and or standing height.
- Cutting/dressing bricks, stones (faced and rubble), competently using hammers, chisels or portable power tools.
- Laying all types of masonry (bricks, stone etc).
- Gauging and mixing lime or cement mortars as required.
- Pointing stone and brickwork, cutting out and re-pointing masonry of all types and styles.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must have, by the closing date for applications: A relevant NVQ Level 2 and/or City & Guilds Advanced Craft in Bricklaying/Masonry.
- At least 1 year’s post-apprenticeship experience in building masonry and brick bonds.
- Possess a full current driving licence to enable the post holder to drive in Northern Ireland.

Further Information
Salary: £506.68 - £538.20 per week (with effect from August 2025) NICS Application form only, Vacancy closing date Friday 1st August 2025 at 12 noon.
