Hearings Support Officer
Job description
The post holder will be responsible for providing a highly effective and efficient administrative support service within the Hearings team, in what is a demanding and highly-pressurised environment, to ensure that the Social Care Council complies with its regulatory and quasi-legal responsibilities. The post holder will perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including the scheduling of registration and preliminary proceedings committees and fitness to practise hearings, distributing case papers and payment of fees. The post holder will be required to work under pressure while, at the same time, maintaining accurate and quality service levels.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality support and assistance for hearings officers and committee members.
- Responsible for completing all pre-hearing and post-hearing activities as required to support Hearings Officer.
- Prepare and draft a broad range of written communications including memos, file notes, letters and e-mails that will contain, on a regular basis, sensitive information.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- English Language and Mathematics GCSEs at Grade A-C, three A Levels or equivalent, and at least 18 months’ relevant administrative experience.
